Golfing Against Local Hunger
Our 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, June 20, at Savannah Golf Links. We were thrilled to raise over $20,000 for this year’s charity, Flamborough Food Bank. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to thank our brokers and business partners while “golfing against local hunger.” The weather held up for our 136 golfers most of the day and spirits weren’t dampened when it started raining!
While the recipient of our tournament’s proceeds changes on an annual basis, the criteria of a local and deserving charity has remained the same. Organizations supported in the past include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cambridge, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Civil K9 Youth Services, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, Cambridge Shelter and Ontario Christian Gleaners.
Flamborough Food Bank is a not-for-profit organization who supplements food and personal care items for those in need. As our new office is located in the village of Sheffield (in Flamborough), we’re especially pleased to support them! Learn more about this noble cause on their website: www.flamboroughfoodbank.com.
Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters of this local charity. Our team is already looking forward to our 2020 tournament!
Jim Leaman, Managing Director of the Flamborough Food Bank, is presented a giant cheque for $20,360 by our Dumfries Mutual team.
