Our History

We were founded in May, 1856, in the Village of Roseville – and are proud to be the oldest Ontario farm mutual insurance company. We have grown from strictly writing fire insurance, to now protecting our insureds against property, liability, and automobile losses.

While we constantly grow and advance at HD Mutual, we’ve always maintained our commitment to putting policyholders first. Our team is dedicated to providing superior service, quality coverage and generous community support. This allows our focus to be on you, rather than on pleasing distant shareholders most interested in profiting for themselves.
