$40,000 donated to local food banks

Food banks are always a vital source of help in the communities in which our policyholders live, but especially during these stretching times! It’s no secret that the need for support has largely increased in recent months, due to the financial strain caused by the pandemic.

These essential charities are more than a critical source of food security for individuals and families. They offer a multitude of programs, support groups and essential supplies (ie: toys for children, books, face coverings, personal care items, recipes and more). They’re faithfully serving while navigating Covid-19 with safety measures including social distancing, meeting by appointment, food hamper deliveries and curb-side pick-up.

It was an honour for our company to support eight local food banks with $5,000 each this fall, 2020. This is on top of our previous Covid-19 relief donations. We thank our Board of Directors for their support of giving back to our community – this quality has been core to our identity from the beginning.

Christina donation - WEB — **Salvation Army Food Bank (Paris)** – Christina George, Agent, presented our donation to Nicole Bouw, Family Services Worker

Tyler donation - WEB — **Burlington Food Bank** – Tyler Nixon, Agent, handed over our donation to Robin Bailey, Executive Director

Terry donation - WEB — **Flamborough Food Bank** – Terry Ann Betzner, Agent, presented our donation to Jim Leaman, Managing Director, and the team

Lee donation - WEB — **Salvation Army Food Bank (Ingersoll)** – Lee Ellery, Agent, presented our cheque to Lovish Sharma, Store Manager

Matt donation - WEB — **The Food Bank of Waterloo Region** – Matt Bendfeld, Agent, presented our donation, which was matched to cover 15,000 meals
