1) Rockton Farmers’ Market – Don’t miss the last edition of the season this Thursday, October 1, from 3-7pm! We’re proud to insure R.A.S. and some of the market’s vendors. Load up on locally produced fruit, vegetables, baked goods, maple syrup, honey, flowers and more. There are social distancing and sanitation measures for you to shop safely – don’t forget to bring your mask. Learn more.
2) Weekly online 50/50 draw – Try your luck in an Online National Progressive 50/50 Raffle through Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions (CAFE) Money raised goes to R.A.S. Learn more.
3) Pop up competitions – The tradition of competing is still alive, while many are missing exhibiting at the fair. The “Thank A Farmer” competition is open until October 16 at 5pm: submit a handmade card thanking a farmer for continuing to work hard and grow food during the pandemic. Learn more about this competition.
4) Take-out dinners – Three of these events have taken place and more are coming soon! You pre-order your meal(s), pick it up and enjoy safely at home.
Rockton Agricultural Society have more exciting things to come! Stay tuned by following them on social media for a steady stream of great updates. We’re also looking forward to the Rockton World’s Fair, MarketFest and Dinner Theatre in 2021, when they’ll return “refreshed, stronger and more innovative.” By supporting local, we help ensure money stays in our community. This is especially important during this difficult time.
Exciting new initiatives are happening 2020, to help offset the cancellations! Don’t miss out.
We’re thankful for our “rock solid” relationship with Rockton Agricultural Society – and support their mission to promote agriculture and community engagement. We’re also big fans of the fair, a wonderful annual event since 1853!
